No sooner did we open our exhibition NEW ENGLAND PLEIN AIR PAINTERS PAINT VERMONT, than two of our NEPAP guests, Barbara Lussier (CT)and Mike Graves (MA), were back at their easels. This was the scene along Route 15 in Jeffersonville yesterday around 5:30.

The gallery's 14th Annual Small Picture Exhibition is 9 months away, but it's not too soon to start thinking in "pairs." Go to www.bryangallery.org/documents/2010specificationsspe.doc for more information about the recommendation that work submitted in pairs (same dimensions, same frame, related imagery) has the best chance for both pieces being installed in this very popular exhibition.

Jeffersonville Festival of the Arts CALL TO ARTISTS

Remember the fun we had last summer at the first Jeffersonville Festival of the Arts?
It was such a successful day, celebrating in part the 25th anniversary of Bryan Memorial Gallery, that Cambridge Arts Council is making it an annual event. This year,, the festival takes place on Saturday, August 14. Go to www.artsfestvt.com for information about how you can participate, but here's a hint: the application deadline is March 15, 2010, so even though August 14 seems light years away, the deadline for declaring your participation will be upon us momentarily.

Bryan Memorial Gallery opened its Winterscapes exhibition last Sunday, January 17 with an Artists Roundtable Discussion, and almost 100 fresh winter images - paintings, photographs, prints, drawings and mixed media - on our walls. A Selection of Paintings in the Winterscapes Exhibition

Bryan Memorial Gallery's Winterscapes Exhibition opens today, Friday, January 15, and following is a small selection of paintings in the show. Join us on Sunday at 1 for the Artists Roundtable, featuring Marilyn James, Marie LaPre Grabon, Dianne Shullenberger and Elizabeth Allen for a discussion about studio practice and winter light. A reception for the artists starts at 2 and continues until 4.
